WHO WE ARE

Golf G.A.L.S. (Greater Atlanta League Series) is an organization of beginner and intermediate golfers in metro Atlanta. The organization is a 501c7 Social/Recreational not-for-profit group. The organization was founded by member, Shaunya Chavis-Rucker in 2006. The group was formerly the Ladies League at Wolf Creek. In 2014 the Wolf Creek league name was changed to Golf G.A.L.S. to reflect the new structure of the organization.

When the organization started in 2006, it was originally called the Ladies League at Wolf Creek but changed its name in 2014 to reflect the groups modified organizational structure of playing at multiple courses in the region. In 2008, the group hosted its first golf tournament following the cancer diagnosis of one of its members. In 2016 member Stephanie Yearby passed away.

Golf GALS members are dedicated to not only playing golf, but also performing public service. In 2017 the ladies hosted its Inaugural Summer Camp Experience in partnership with the Fulton County Parks & Recreation Department. Members spent the morning with young girl summer campers to expose them to the game of golf and to share with them the scholarship opportunities available for African-American female golfers. In 2018 Members collected school supplies to donate to the WSB-TV Back to School Stuff the Bus Campaign. In 2019 the ladies focused on developing thier skills during clinic and league play. In 2020 members aired on the side of safety and paused group play during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021 members celebrated their 15th League Season Anniversary.

Golf G.A.L.S. members join other golf organizations for special play-dates and outings at various courses during the golf season.
